Christmas Skates, 12x24 SOLD

Christmas Skates, 12x24 oil

I have a tradition, that I started a few years back, to do a painting for Christmas. It can be such a busy time of year, shopping, parties, and all that fun stuff that comes with the season, as well as getting paintings done for others in time for the special day. I usually try to have it finished by the beginning of December, but I seem to be running a little late this year, but better late than never. So here it is! Happy Holidays!

Down the Road, 8x8 oil

Down the Road, 8x8 oil
It was a cold day in November when I went out to paint this. If you are just going from your car to someplace indoors, you might think it's not too cold, but when you are outside standing for a couple of hours, you can really feel the cold, wow! I didn't wear my winter boots and my feet froze! I won't forget my boots next time!

Persimmon, 6x6 oil

6x6 oil

Persimmons are pretty little fruits with their bright orange colour. I remember liking them as a child, probably because of their surprisingly mild flavour.

I thoroughly enjoyed painting this still life. I knew what I wanted it to look like before I even started.
Luckily at the last minute, I decided to enter this painting into the Burlington Art Centre, Fine Arts Guild annual juried show. Well I not only got accepted, but received and 'honourable mention'. It'll be on display at the Centre until the end of November I believe.
